The design for the interiors at the Novotel Spa at Lavasa, near Pune, responds to its serene location on the Ekaant hills over-looking the Dasve Lake. The building structure cantilevers off the hill, framing un-interrupted views from the Spa rooms towards the lake. The eight treatment rooms have been located toward the front of the building, each with a private step out.
A long corridor behind the rooms has recliners arranged in a series, that functions as a relaxation space and tea room after the treatment has been completed. The finishes for the spa are a blend of un-treated, raw materials like exposed brick walls and rough stone finishes paired with extremely polished surfaces like ceramic printed glass and highly polished veneers. The space has been designed with a minimalistic approach with the focus being the Dasve Lake beyond the hill.
