The Spa Block at the Park Hotel, Cochin was designed as an annex to the main hotel building. Taking forward the India Modern theme, the entire skin of the building was treated as a monolithic glowing canvas with abstracted artwork of sceneries from the back waters of Kerala. Traditional objects have been used as art or functional elements through-out the space - Urli’s as wall art, antique carved doors as a reception table, jute ropes as a railing. The material palette lends to the rich ambience of the space.
Indigenous materials like black granite with a river finish, pebble tiles , teak wood were used along side wooden decks, pandomo for the walls and flooring and Barrisol for the ceiling.
