The interior design of this 450sft apartment grew as an amalgamation of several small/ideas and projects conceptualized in a small space. Rajiv intended the project to be “silly and serious all at once”. A varied pool of inspirational styles including Wabi Sabi, Milo Baughman and the 1950s has influenced the design of this space. Several finer design elements and details like the kitchenette with a retractable blind, the plumbing pipe post bed, the welded mesh wall surface or the steel bucket sink have contributed to the betterment of the spatial qualities of this tight space. The large balcony has been appropriated to accommodate the dining area and the bedroom closet. The closet is deliberately left open, with the only exception of a linen cover at the back, so that it is well lit and airy.
