About Praxis

Founded in 2001, Praxis is a design practice based in Bangalore, India. We work in diverse fields of architecture, interior design and master planning. All projects at Praxis are a result of extensive research and design ideation which challenge orthodox design styles and established methodologies.

We believe this research & context oriented approach towards design, engineering, materials and construction, allows for experimentation towards newer, and more sustainable design solutions.

For the team of over 40 architects, interior designers, visualizers and graphic designers at Praxis, every project is an opportunity to address contextual challenges from a fresh perspective. Praxis’s oeuvre currently spans across design for institutional, hospitality, commercial, retail, real estate, master-planning, residential, and private residences.

Praxis is a design practice based in Bangalore, that offers innovative architectural, urban planning and interior design services. We strive to translate every design brief into an experience that engages, educates and excites the end user.

Our approach is holistic - taking into consideration issues of sustainability: both cultural and physical, sensitivity to the region we build in, and understanding the cultural nuances of the locale and incorporating them into our designs.

Team

Ajit Jain

Founder

After graduating from MIET, Gondia in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Ajit moved to Bangalore to work with Arch. Sanjeev Mokashi and two years later founded CMSM Design with Rajiv Majumdar and subsequently Praxis with Rajiv and Gopa in 2001. Ajit has worked extensively and headed diverse projects that include Residential, Institutional and Commercial Architecture and Interiors. His core strengths lie in articulation of large spaces and project implementation.

Gopa Menon

Founder

Gopa graduated from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He has worked with reputed Bangalore architects through his career as a student. He worked with Mistry Architects for 6 years before establishing his own practice in 1998. He subsequently worked as an exhibition designer for 2 years with Circle Exhibition Services, Dubai before returning to Bangalore in 2001 to join CMSM Design and Praxis. His core strengths lie in the design of Residential spaces.

Rajiv Majumdar

Founder

After graduating from MIET, Gondia in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Rajiv has worked with Prof. B.V.Doshi in Ahmedabad, where he was involved in the development and design of various projects. He subsequently moved to WS Atkins in Bangalore. He started CMSM Design with Ajit Jain in 1998 and Praxis with Ajit Jain and Gopa Menon in 2001. In the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience in India on diverse projects, such as, Retail and Hospitality Spaces, Residences and Corporate Interiors.
