High Jinx

Location - Bengaluru
Design area - 18000sqft
Project status / Completion date - Unbuilt
Design team - Rajiv, Anuradha, Parvathi, Ashik, Arif

High Jinx is an unbuilt concept developed for a vibrant resto-bar nestled in one of the commercial hubs of Bangalore. Spread across 18,000sft of space on a single floor, this restaurant features a large variety of unique dining experiences, both indoor as well as outdoor.

Built to suit the ground floor of an existing commercial building, the entry to the resto-bar leads customers alongside a unique outdoor covered dining feature displaying the brand name, into a triple height dining verandah and further into the main indoor bar.

The driving design direction for the look & feel of the resto-bar is that of a vintage classic New York bar. The dominant usage of tiles in the finishes helps add an eclectic three dimensional quality to the elements and displays a versatile space adapting to both calm gatherings as well as high energy parties. Translation of this theme to fit an indoor, verandah as well as outdoor seating is what adds a sense of retro nostalgia and sets this space apart from its contemporaries in the Bangalore context.
